Every girl needs some self-defense. But at Fit and Physical, you'll learn martial arts and get fit at the same time. Look great, feel better and kick a little butt! Check out one-on-one personal training with our favourite karate black belt, Rosie Miller. She loves her job, the world of martial arts, and her life is just…well, brilliant.

Trainer and martial artist Rosie Miller's zen is seriously compromised when Hunter Black—her former coach and lover—becomes her new boss. With all the sexual energy still crackling between them, her poor little zen doesn't stand a chance. So this time, Rosie is determined to do more than put up self-defense. She and Hunter are going to play by her rules….

I’ve been reading a lot of these little Cosmo Red Hot reads over the past couple of weeks. As I’ve mentioned more than once novellas are not really my thing, but I have enjoyed a couple of these novellas when I am short for time, so I decided I wanted to read a couple more of these books. I think what drew me to this book is that its without a doubt a second chance book, I love when exes show back up and people get a second chance at a relationship that didn’t work out.

So the book starts and it is kind of hilarious, definitely made me laugh a little in the first scene. Rosie is being dumped by what I can only describe as a insecure jerk, he basically doesn’t want to date Rosie anymore because she’s not girly enough, and she makes him feel unmanly because she doesn’t need his protection. The whole thing is kind of ridiculous, if I remember correctly he even suggests she take up baking or something like that. To make matters worse, her ex boyfriend, the one who left her and crushed her heart is sitting the next table over and overhears the same thing. Oh and did I mention that when she makes her exit she is attacked by a couple of guys. Yeah totally not her night. You can’t really help but feel for her, and more than that be impressed by her ability to keep it together.

I actually really liked Hunter, normally when it comes to exes it takes me a couple of chapters to warm up to the other party, but Hunter was likable from the beginning. I liked that he was persistent but not in such a way that made him seem overbearing or rude. I loved the chemistry that Rosie and Hunter had, it was easy to see how the two of them would have burned so hot and heavy when they were together when they were younger.

This is a really quick read but it was enjoyable nevertheless. I loved the chemistry and the pacing of the book. If you are looking for a really quick romance, then this is definitely an option for you.
