Jack was a rock star on the way to fame. Leila was following her dream and joining his band as a back-up singer. An insane attraction sparked between them that they couldn’t deny. Attraction quickly led to so much more. They ignored all the warnings and fell in love.
When the couple embark on their tour, they couldn’t be more excited to travel the country hand in hand on the way to stardom. The road ahead is filled with miles and miles of possibilities. Along with their band, Devil’s Lair, they feel nothing could stop them.
An angry ex-band-mate, a pregnant ex-girlfriend, and never-ending Internet gossip all attempt to wreak havoc on their developing relationship. New love does not mix well with stress, pressure and guilt. Together they face each and every challenge, stubbornly fighting for what they have. Will their determination be enough?
I remember really loving the first book in this series. I love the whole rock star theme, but what set this book apart for me is that it wasn’t just a woman falling for the famous rock star, she was so much more than that, she was just as musically talented and helped make the band even better than it was before. I really loved that they stood on equal footing, and more than that they had a great chemistry together, even though the tried to stay apart from each other for the sake of the band and their music, they just had this great magnetic pull that made for great chemistry. Needless to say I was really looking forward to this sequel.
I didn’t love this book the same way that I loved the first one, but it was definitely a good read and a quality sequel to the series. I loved that their happily ever from the first book was tested, that real life got in the way of them. The chemistry between them is still pretty awesome, and it’s clear that they love each other and want to be together, but they still had a lot of obstacles to overcome.
The great thing about this book is that there is a real villain in this book. Jessa, Jack’s ex-girlfriend, is very easy to dislike and it’s clear from the very beginning that she is both unhinged and truly going to be a problem that this couple is going to have to overcome. Jessa claims to be knocked up with Jack’s kid, and her story is just so preposterous (seriously you have to read it to believe it), but regardless of how insane the whole thing is, its clear she is going to cause some series PR problems for Jack. More than that though, it turns out there might be some issues of safety for Leila and their relationship is definitely going to be tested.
I like this couple, completely and totally. I loved that the two of them are even more devoted to each other in the face of problems. I love the way the author writes these two, and the pacing of the book was great, I am pretty sure I read this whole book in one sitting. If you liked the first book you have to read this book, and if you haven’t read the first book pick it up and read it immediately and then check out this one.
