"How is it, that someone can make decision after decision attempting to get away from their past and somehow end up right back where they started?"
When Brenna decided to leave the only life she'd ever known, she never thought she'd ever be back. Now, five years later she's running from her clean cut husband straight back to the motorcycle club that raised her... and the man she left behind. She left with a secret, and as soon as she returns the truth will break her carefully constructed life wide open.

Another motorcycle book, what can I tell you, I’m hooked. Although like with all genres and themes, every author has a little bit different of a take on things, and I have to say I liked this one. I think part of the reason why I liked this book is because Brenna left the motorcycle club life behind, for years, and then was forced to come back in order to save herself. It’s definitely a hard story to read in parts, especially with the secret she carried with her back to the club.

So Brenna is married to an abusive jerk, like hard core, he breaks bones and does series damage to her. To him she is literally just a possession to do what he wants when he wants no matter what harm he does to her or her daughter. So when she has the chance, after he hurts her in front of her daughter, she runs. And where does she run, back home to the motorcycle club she grew up in, where her dad is VP (I believe). Once she arrives she promptly passes out from internal injuries leaving the club to find out what had been happening to her on their own, oh and did I mention they found a daughter they didn’t know she had in the back seat. Oh and did I mention she is the spitting image of one of the guys in the club?

I normally have serious issues when women keep babies from their fathers, it works in some books because there are actual legit reasons why they don’t fess up (one night stand didn’t know the guys name, guy disappeared before they knew they were pregnant, you get the idea). I’m actually quite on the fence about whether or not I feel like her reason was good enough. Yes her one night with Dragon was very against the rules, and he would have been seriously punished (physically harmed if not worse) for their one night, so she ran. I still think he had the right to know, frankly so did he (understandable right).

So of course this book is full of the fallout of everyone finding out about Brenna’s one night with Dragon. Dragon reconciling that he has a daughter. Dragon finding out all the secrets that Brenna keeps to herself. Oh and did you really think the abusive husband was going to let her just go… uh no not so much. So there is a lot going on in this book, a lot of action, great pacing.

The love story itself is actually pretty good in my opinion. It’s clear that Brenna and Dragon care about each other, but more than that they care about the daughter they share, the family that they created. So much of their characters are both wrapped up in their roles are parents, and they really are good parents. Plus the chemistry between them worked really well too. There were plenty of oh my god moments, and moments where you sat on the edge of your seat waiting to see what was going to happen next.

All in all, I would recommend this book to anyone who is a fan of the motorcycle club thing, or if you like the whole idea of the secret baby. Either way it was an enjoyable read for me from beginning to end, so go check it out.
