Obsession... a wounded hunter, a damaged vampire.

Six months ago, vampire hunter and inventive genius Istvan nearly died in the seminal battle that would change the relationship between humans and vampires forever.

A year before that, he first encountered sexy vampiress, Angyalka, owner of the Angel Club, favored haunt of the undead. Istvan won that round, but when he recklessly seeks her out again in search of the secret of angels, he's alone and so exhausted he can barely stand, let alone fight vampires. Plus Angyalka's out for revenge, and very happy to use his powerful sexual attraction to her…

But Angyalka has her own secret weaknesses as well as terrifying strengths even she doesn't understand. Their battle becomes one of wits and sex, but when someone bombs the club, they fight together to contain all the threats closing in on the Angel, from humans and vampires, including the sadistic killer who could just be dangerous enough to finally topple undead overlord Saloman.

As Istvan struggles to harness the mysterious power of angels, Angyalka needs a deeper strength to send away the fascinating hunter who delivers on all her deepest sensual desires and yet can't come to terms with her vampire nature.

We are back for the second book in the trilogy, Blood of Angels. For me this book was much more romance, or rather paranormal romance than it was urban fantasy. I felt like the first book felt more urban fantasy than paranormal romance. So just a heads up, in case you go into this book looking for a heavy urban fantasy book, this one is much more character/romance driven than urban fantasy story.

So Istvan is recovering from being seriously injured in a recent fight, and he is looking for answers to some things that he thinks will help him as a hunter. In order to get these answers he has to seek out Angyalka, who of course becomes the love interest in this story. Treanor really likes to put together Hunters and vampires, so this is just another example of this. The two of them have a lot of chemistry together, or at least that’s the read I had one them. They trade a lot of jabs with each other, but there is definitely a sexual component to their relationship. The problem for them really comes down to one of them is a Hunter and the other is a Vampire.

The two of them have to come together in order to get their the answers they both seek. Since this book is very character driven, there is a lot of inner problems, like trying to deal with internal issues, both of them seem to be trying to find acceptance as well as constantly having to deal with the trust issues the two of them have about each other.

Overall, I would say the story is pretty solid, but I wouldn’t recommend reading it unless you have read the first one. I think a lot of people would enjoy this book, especially if they like more character driven stories. The book did start a little slow for me, so that’s primarily why I went with a three star rating.
